More things to mention (ratchet straps!):

#2  - two 8' long 2x6s along the bottom of the stack seem to make things
stiff enough if strapped to the stack with ratchet straps...

#3 - ratchet straps work great for stretch models

#4 - candy cane - bending rebar end, this also creates great attachment
point to ratchet strap hooks
