I'd asked a week or so ago if anyone was interested in getting together in Chicago.
I received a few responses, but not many. So I'm thinking about hosting a weekend of cranking and buzzing in my living room. With the numbers expressing interest so far, we won't need a bigger space. It'd be a pretty informal thing -- come with a question or two and a tune or two to share, and we'll have a good time figuring out the questions and learning and playing each other's tunes. The most important thing to figure out at this point, of course, is a date. Rather than occupy this list with sorting that out, I'll be sending mail to those who have expressed interest, and we'll negotiate until we find something that works or give up. I'll report back what we decide, so if someone happens to be passing through Chicago on the right weekend, they can drop in. (We're only about half an hour from O'Hare airport.) If you'd meant to express interest and just hadn't gotten around to it yet, now's the time, so you can be included in the date discussion. --Dennis Sherman Chicago, IL, USA
