Hi there hurdy-gurdy mailing list,
John Woosley here in Portland, Oregon. I haven't been keeping up with
the list for quite a long time, but I have a solid email account now.
Seems like a good time to return from the Dark Side Of The Moon and
join the community.
I'm looking forward to hearing about HG players, discuss HG recordings,
and possibly find out, once and for all, exactly what is behind each
squeak, creak, hum, warble and harmonic affecting hurdy-gurdies
anywhere in the world!
My instrument is a Hackmann (OMI) Volksgurdy, which has been getting
more use recently. For practice, I mostly play French traditional. My
personal tastes vary quite a bit, but lean towards the experimental
side.
I would like to offer my sincere apologies to anyone whose
correspondence I may have inadvertently misplaced, procrastinated, or
bounced, especially all you fine Over-The-Water attendees. I was hoping
to stop by the festival this year, but a badly timed illness forced me
to stay home. I look forward to our next meeting.
Thanks and greetings to the Listmasters for their tireless efforts in
moderating this mailing list!
Best,
John
