Hello HG friends,
My name is Maurice Saylor and I'm new to the list. I'm a composer and music
librarian. I also play in a trio called the Snark Ensemble where we write
and perform live scores to silent films. We play on a wide variety of
instruments and it has been my dream for some time to add a hurdy-gurdy to
the sound. So, I bought one (Nathan Sweet Volksgurdy) - now I need to learn
to play and maintain the instrument - and I really have no idea other than
the little I've read and a lot of hearsay.
I have obtained the Doreen Muskett Method and the Philippe Destrem and
Volker Heidemann "The Hurdy Gurdy adjustment and maintenance" is on its way.
Is there anyone on the list that lives in the Washington DC area? I would
love to get together with some other players, watch them play and talk shop.
I'll buy the drinks...
