The Boston Museum of Fine Arts has in its collection what appears to be an authentic Colson lute-back. I have no reason to think it otherwise, anyway. It is quite small and a *sweet* looking thing. Not playable, so I can't comment on its sound...

I like to look at them, but I might buy one if I had a chance to play it. I really am not in the market for an antique restoral until I have one to play....
