Talking about cases, I have searched a couple of times for a maker who does work with light materials like carbon or glass fiber, unsuccessfully. Any ideas? Anyway I guess the price for such a custom-made case would be really high.

Simon - I dont know whether Savage and Hoy is still in existance. I suspect not. The name was bought by Graham Spencer, who designed and built the bulbous 'submarine' type hurdy gurdy cases that Chris Eaton used in the 1980-1990's. I have an old address that you could try.
