I agree with Matt. There are better reasons to watch that movie than the gurdy scenes...although that clunk is priceless. I don't think Capts C would have inspired me to play...as a player, it does make the hair standup on my legs to see my true love on the screen with Spencer Tracy. But that "clunk" is priceless. Kinda like a scene from those "Elm Street" movies. Truly eclectic entertainment. The ending is kinda maudlin and sloppy, but it's still not as bad as the book.

There's a whole page of Filmography on www.hurdygurdy.com (look under "Reference"). I went and saw "Chocolat" based on rumors of a HG sighting. I felt like I had been taken to the cleaners, so to speak. My only consolation was getting to see Juliette Binoche who is almost as good as watching a HurdyGurdy, not quite, but ALMOST. It I went to see it again I would go for the Django-tpye guitar stuff, which incidently, barely made the soundtrack CD. Wistfully, Roy P.S. Wistful because I'm still wasting all my time at work and don't get to play much.
