Hi Jay,

I bought an Alto because of the fantastic sound!! I heard Simon Wascher
playing it. I have had my Alto for over a year now and I am still very much
a beginner. My main problem is the tuning, it just get's out of tune when
carrying from one room to another. Even my HG teacher has problems tuning
it, but she herself plays different HG's. Mark Egea and also Chris Eaton are
able to tune it brilliantly, but both have other Weichselbaumer HG's and are
brilliant players.

Meanwhile I have spoken to so many HG players and *all* say that the tuning
problems iare *NOT* typical for Weichselbaumer HG's. They say that tuning *
any* HG is a piece of art (and can drive a beginner to distraction!!)

The Alto is a wonderful instrument, easy to play (when tuned properly
beautiful to the ears), the handle turns with ease and is steady ...........
I can only recommend it. :-)))

Bye the way, I have just moved to Spain. Does anybody on the list know a HG
player in the Valencia area?

All the best

Christa
