Do low octave strings handle increased wheel pressure better than higher ones?

on my last instrument I had the thickest string on the tromptte side : the setup was made so that the bowing area moved towards the bridge because the string was pushed and lifted partially from the wheel when the key was pushed. Playing higher notes the string had lesser pressure and the bowing area moved, as it does with normal bowed instruments: the bowing point moves bridgewards to keep the harmonics in balance.

On my actual instrument the setup is the other way round: this is because of the position of the soundpost and bracing. So it couldn't be simply turned around, its fixed by the construction.

kind regards,

Simon
