Kevin - and anyone else in the area at the right time - you should check out the San Francisco Free Folk Festival. They had a French session on the class schedule last year and several folks with gurdies were along to play. (Try jumping into this pool with a symphonie style gurdy of limited range with NO familiarity with the repertoire. I dog paddled like mad and switched to C pennywhistle when I had to, but damn, it was fun!)
