Dear list:

A composer has asked me to post this for her:

***************************************************************************
Hurdy Gurdy player needed ASAP for world premiere of prize-winning composition
in New York City (April 1, 2008). Composition is best described as a short
"comic cantata"/theatre piece, for SSAA Women's Choir, 2 violins, piano, and
prominently featuring the hurdy gurdy. Spoken and solo singing roles.

Hurdy gurdy player must be able to tune to key of A and play in 3 sharps;
there is one "A" drone in the piece. Perfect tuning not absolutely necessary,
relative is good. The bulk of the HG part consists mainly of "Scottish
highland" type short melodic tunes of 2-4 measures each. Hurdy gurdiest can
also feel free to improvise as well as sing along during some parts of the
text !

Rehearsal Dates in NYC: (Rehearsals last one-two hours only)
