For supper -yesterday- we had a lovely pig-out on mesquite-smoked BBQ, brought
in by Micheal Laird. At 8 PM we gave the concert. We had collected a series of
tunes we could play together, and we played under starlight ( and artificial
light) in the side yard. As we exhausted the repertoires of the
pre-intermediates they departed the stage to augment the small but enthusiastic
audience. We also had an auxillary audience in the front yard. Neighbors that
preferred to smoke, rather than come through the house or something.....
Anyway, after the concert we had an official noodle, slept in and were fed
French Toast for Breakfast. We did surgery on several tunes which were either
dredged up from the deep or learned. Tunes getting played, played slow,
discussed the music and played again. People are learning things...nice
surprise. This activity was occasionally interrupted by such as sandwiches,
swimming, &c.
There's only about half of the participants left. In the war of Attrition,
attrition seems to be winning. At the moment a discussion has gravitated to my
end of the house concerning where we are going to enjoy a supper of local
Mexican cuisine. I guess break is over.......
Later.
