To all fans of the Hurdy-gurdy and French dance music.....

The 2nd UK Hurdy-gurdy Festival takes place in Lancaster, 25-27th April 2008.

We have a full programme of 'gurdy tuition, featuring Balazs Nagy,
Chris Allan, Cliff Stapleton, Michael Muskett, Mike Eaton, Neil Brook,
Phil Martin, Ruth Bramley and Steve Tyler ( see

Plus an exciting program of concerts and dances featuring music from
England, France, Hungary, Sweden, the Balkans and more with sounds
from the Baroque and Medieval through to Folkadelic improv!

The weekend includes French dancing with Red Dog Green Dog (Saturday
night) and Cyser (Saturday lunchtime), and French dance workshops with
Cathy Goss. Also featured in concert are Steve Tyler, Cliff Stapleton,
Nuada, Drohne and much more. All instrumentalists can join the massed
'gurdies for the "Grand Orchestre de Lancaster" to play some rousing
bourreés and schottisches (MVO arrangements) in the closing concert on
Sunday pm.
