Yes, wonderful music. Listen also to the other recording of Andrey Vinograd,
especially
"Voznesenie bylo Gospodnee"!

For playing medieval music and generally. archaic music like this wonderful
Russian religious melody, I have tuned one melodystring tuned to c' (one
tone lower than the violin d-string) and a choice between bourdon in d or g,
with the tangents corrected for pure intonation to these two bourdons. That
works fine, especially in the obiquitous dorian and mixolydian melodies.
Here, I think, it's  again a perfect choice.
Obviously Vinograd has a melodystring tuned to a (as R.T.Taylor already
said) with bourdon in d.
