Assalamualaikum
JZKK for the info. I tried to call few numbers but
only 1 got through...I then spoke to Malaysia Foreign Minister on this
matter.
Actually, since Indonesian govn has put a stop to
adoption for the time being, few organisations have reverted to raising funds in
order to set up orphanage center in Acheh itself, rather than taking them
outside the country.
In the main, this is to counter plan
by christian group in setting up their own orphanage center
in Acheh (see http://www.abc.net.au/newcastle/stories/s1276780.htm)
You can contact these
organisation directly if you are interested in helping them to successfully set
up muslims orphanage centers in aceh. These NGOs are raising fund for
that.
Perhaps Islamic Relief
(http://www.islamic-relief.com/) and Muslim Aid as well.
Try call them and ask for details.
Alternatively, few groups are preparing for
adopting and bringing those orphanage to center in Malaysia, but still waiting
for approval from indonesia government. MERCY and Global Peace Mission in
Malaysia may be in a good position for this.
As it stand now, since the Indonesian government is
prefering for those orphanage to remain in Indonesia, hence the best way at the
moment is to support the above organisation in setting up orphanage centers in
acheh itself.
If anyone has further updates, feel free to email
me... I will also update you whenever I have news...

Subject: RE: Acheh - adopting muslims orphanage Dear all,
I am very grateful
that many Muslims are interested to adopt Achenese
orphans. But Indonesian government has formally stated that no
Achenese child should be sent out from Aceh, at least for the time
being. The children will be
registered first and will be made sure that they have no
parents or relatives left. Because at present there are
still a lot of people displaced. . Also Indonesian
government should be very careful that adoption is not used
for bad things such as child trafficking,
prostitution etc. On the other hand the
government prefers that people help Achenese children
by fostering them ( sent money for their schooling etc ) than
letting the children go out of the country.
