America: Land of the free? Not if you're a Muslim

January 14, 2005A recent Cornell University survey found that almost half
of all Americans believe that the U.S. government should restrict the civil
liberties of Muslim Americans. This bigoted, racist attitude is quite simply
appalling. It essentially favors racial profiling; yet a recent report by
Amnesty International presents strong evidence indicating that racial
profiling does not work.

FINAL WORD ON IRAQ'S WMD SOUNDS VERY FAMILIAR

WASHINGTON -- So now it's official and we can all breathe a little easier.
This week, we finally know about the weapons of mass destruction. They
weren't there, certainly not when we rushed to implausible war nearly two
long years ago.

America: A mean and unholy ditch
The sleep of reason amid wild dogs and gin

January 14, 2005The hardest thing for garden variety American liberals to
grasp is what a truly politicized and hateful place much of America has
become-one long mean ditch ruled by feral dogs where the standards of
civility no longer apply. The second hardest thing for liberals is to admit
that they are comfortably insulated in the middle class and are not going to
take any risks in the battle for America's soul . . . not as long as they
are still living on a good street, sending their kids to Montessori and
getting their slice of the American quiche. Call it the politics of the
comfort zone.

A global gulag to hide the war on terror's dirty secrets:

Bush is now thinking of building jails abroad to hold suspects for life

By Jonathan Steele

Since its establishment after 9/11, the US camp for foreigners at Guantnamo
Bay has become a beacon of unfreedom, a kind of grisly competitor to the
Statue of Liberty in the shopfront of authentic American images. The trickle
of releases of prisoners from its cages has brought direct testimony of the
horrors which go on there. So it is no wonder that the Bush administration
would like to find less visible places to
hold prisoners, and keep them there for ever so that they cannot tell the
world.

Meet The Real Domestic Terrorists

Well, whats fascism anyhow? Everybodys hollering about it, and pointing
accusatory

fingers at everybody else, so what is it, exactly? Is fascism the tacit
approval -- by some citizens --of local skinheads burning crosses and
running hate-filled websites? Or is a fascist your neighbor down the street
who uses racial epithets at all cultures other than his own and wont let
his kid play with your kid because youre an immigrant?

From Afghanistan to Iraq: Transplanting CIA Engineered Terrorism

Like a lab technician experimenting on rodents and then writing a report
about the result of the experimentation, the CIAs National Intelligence
Council (NIC) has released a 119-page report about the terrorism it spent
billions creating and unleashing on the world. Iraq provides terrorists with
a training ground, a recruitment ground, the opportunity for enhancing
technical skills, David B. Low, national intelligence officer for
transnational threats, tells Dana Priest of the Washington Post. Iraq has
replaced Afghanistan as the training ground for the next generation of
professionalized terrorists, Priest summarizes.

The Media follow-up to the LACK OF WMD's

Now ladies and gentleman, I watched a lot of FOX and CNN the last two days
to see how they would respond to their months and months of lies and bad
coverage. Months of misconstrued reports that ultimately convinced the
American public that Iraq had the weapons, and in some cases - used "scare"
scenarios (what are the effects, will they attack the US, the mushroom cloud
comments) to drag the US into the current mess of a war. About the closest
thing I saw to reason, sadly, were the crazy kook's "from the left" on CNN's
Crossfire. I find it even MORE hypocritical that O'Reilly has a running
talking point entitled "The Dishonest Media" when now it appears every form
of mass media was in fact PRESENTING FALSE information about Iraq, and it's
WMD... or lack thereof.

WMD? Oh Yeah, That:

I know Ive said this before, but Bushs phony search for WMD is exactly
like O.J. Simpson looking for his wifes killer. Only O.J. only killed two
people. Bush killed tens of thousands. Where are the WMD? Never mind that.
Where is the outrage?

Look everybody, we've found WMDRPAs!

According to Bush, they might not have had WMDs, but they had
"weapons-of-mass-destruction-related program activities". That's right, we
declered war on Iraq because they had WMDRPAs.

Fallujah Delegation Delivers Memorandum To UN On US Crimes

A delegation of residents of the Iraqi city of Fallujah has submitted a
memorandum to the General Secretary of the United Nations, Kofi Annan, that
consists of two reports. The first report details crimes committed by the US
occupation forces in the city between 7 November 7th, 2004 and December 30,
2004. The second is concerned with the situation of refugees from the city,
who were driven from their homes by the US aggression that began against the
city in November 2004.
