To tell the truth, whoever controls the country will do exactly like
what UMNO is doing now. i.e trying to control the hearts and minds of
all citizen. The only reason other political parties don't do this is
very simple. That is because they don't have power.
Given the chance, these political parties will strive hard to shape the
minds of the citizen in the best way they think possible. Don't confuse
this with the truth or good moral.
The only people who really say communist is a threat is the people
whose interests are threaten by the communists, i.e the capitalistic
economy. Much of our hatred toward communist comes from the secular
British who taught us that communist are bad.
To Islam, the religion of many Malays in this country, secularism and
communism are equally bad. Racism too like the one UMNO is fighting for
is not part of Islamic teachings. The messenger who brought the
massages from God the Creator, did not include include racism as part of
the teachings. In fact that practice is prohibited in Islam.
What do we call a political party that only a particular race can join
in?
We can safely call it racist party (It is up to individual to judge
whether racism is good or bad). But according to the teachings of Islam,
racism is bad. All humans are equal before God the Creator except for
those who wish to subject themselves to the will of God and strive to do
that in their life time. To God, good people or bad people has nothing
to do with the skin colour, the hair colour or whether the eyes are
slanted or not.

Today, I've just learned a new word: Umno-ise. I think I know what it
means, but fail to locate it in the dictionary. Anyway, no offence meant
for the non-muslims, but all this while I thought only Christians
baptise their new-borns and re-borns.
Then again, the more I look at it, the more I see the similarity
between Umno and the Communist - mass indoctrination of a set of belief.
Whether Soviet, North Korea, Indo-China or China, the daily forced
injection of their idealogy to the people is paramount to everything
else. In North Korea for instance, they attach electronic speakers to
poles placed in public areas, to grind their message across. In
Malaysia, off course, the Umno government goes several notches up by
using the media which is under their control.
TV3 and 8TV together with the NST belong to companies which is under
Umno. Now, they may just buy over natseven, though irrespective of the
circumstances. Who does Astro belong to, if not a man who was closely
associated with the former PM. What about RtM 1 & 2? Well, since Umno is
the leading party in the ruling coalition, they think these 2 stations
belongs to them and use it according to their whims and fancy.
Day in, day out, Malaysians are bombarded with news of the heroic
achievements of the Umno-led government; of their leaders unfailing
devotion to the nation and their inaffalibality. An example of this is
the term 'glocal' which the media attribute to the DPM as the excerpt
from the posting below would testify:"Umno deputy president Najib Abdul
Razak had on Tuesday coined the term 'glocal' in his opening address
to signify the 'brave new Malay' who is global in outlook but local
in his actions."
(Roslan_S commented on this in one of his postings, but I would like to
add a bit of my own: As far as I am aware, HSBC had put it into practice
for quite some time now with their tagline: The World's Local Bank.)
Day in, day out, Malaysians are bombarded with the 'evilness' of the
opposition and the 'forked-tongue' they possess. Nothing good, it seems,
comes from the opposition.
In fact, when looked at closely, the propaganda the ruling coalition
use is identical to those used by the Communist, especially during the
Cold War.
Umno is in shreds now. What, with the ongoing spat between Dr.M and
Rafidah, they know they're losing their grip, if they've not already.
Their latest move below can be equated to an act of desperation. Hail
our leader, the great....

Set up institute to 'Umno-ise' university students

While heads of schools have their Aminudin Baki Institute and civil
servants the National Institute of Public Administration (Intan), the
government has yet to set up an institute to ensure that university
academicians and staff toe the Umno line, a party delegate told the
assembly today.
"We are very concerned that the next generations (will graduate)
without having been Umno-ised," said Kedah representative Mohd Kamal
Saidin.
Two public universities, Universiti Islam Antarabangsa (UIA) and the
Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), were highlighted by Kamal as
opposition strongholds which stood in the way of goals set by the
Umno-led government.
"These lecturers' role is to shape the thinking of our students.
They must support the government, they must support the policies that it
has set and not oppose them," he added.
"If heads of schools have Aminudin Baki Institute and government
officials Intan, where can we place our lecturers and professors?"
asked Kamal.
He urged the government to set up a National Academy of Higher
Education so that "academics can absorb and be reminded of the
policies of the government".
Students identified with opposition parties won campus elections last
year in UIA and UPSI, together with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM)
and Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM).
Student factions seen as 'pro-establishment' won, however, at
Universiti Malaya (UM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Universiti
Putra Malaysia (UPM), Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) and Universiti
Institut Teknologi Malaysia (UiTM).
Monitoring body
Meanwhile, a Puteri Umno member in her speech called for the
establishment of a monitoring body to monitor Malay university students
and ensure that they are effectively molded into 'glocal' Malays.
Puteri representative Azlina Mehtab Mohamed Ishaq said the body should
also ensure that these students do not lag behind academically while
enabling them to compete at the national and international levels,
according to a Bernama report.
"This matter, if ignored, will cause Malay students to continue to lag
behind although we are aware that the educational level of each person
differs," said Azlina, a Puteri exco member and leader of the wing's
Penang division.
Umno deputy president Najib Abdul Razak had on Tuesday coined the term
'glocal' in his opening address to signify the 'brave new Malay'
who is global in outlook but local in his actions.
The monitoring body, Azlina added, should also look into the nurturing
of glocal Malays from as early as the kindergarten level when seconding
the motion on religion and education
It should also look into the weaknesses of kindergartens run by the
Community Development Department and make a comparative study on how
private kindergartens could produce better pupils.A Kedah delegate
expresses concern that future generations of Malay students will
graduate without being 'Umno-ised' and will not support the policies
of the government.
