Reading in the Canadian federal Parties;

Word from the editor;

It is really was an overwhelming angry respond from many of readers in regard to our proposed slogan for the upcoming federal election “Let us have minority Conservative, so Liberal has to clean his act before coming back”

By introducing this slogan, we achieved two main things, 1st we succeeded in opening the debate on the issue, the issue of the messy federal politics in Canada that have been controlled for long time by the tow rivals The Liberal and The Conservative, 2nd and most important this proof that people are not naïf to accept anything ads Conservative.

Let us first apologise for the misunderstanding that came from the misreading of the slogan, we are not inviting people to vote conservative but to understand this slogan we have to go back to the last election June 2004 when people forgot all good work from many of the politician and parties and voted Liberal because they were afraid of Conservative government, what this produce?

Liberal in power headed by Martin and his gang, whom well known for their right wing agenda, NDP lost its biggest chance to have a real say in the policies and conservative gearing for government benefiting from the corruption and hiding its real face;

What if we did not get paranoid with the Conservative scare?

Conservative would be a tiny minority that will burn all its cards in very short period and the Liberal, left wing, would revolve inside the party against Mr. Ships (Martin) and his gang, where they might be able to join effort with strong NDP in real people coalition government, so we end with vacuuming those corrupted politician,

So the plan now is to try to do what should be done in June 2004, not by supporting Conservative, for sure, but by supporting our moral and principals vote for the best available options (NDP, Green…….) in all over Canada and for sure the BQ will share them the vote in Quebec and will have the highest vote possible because they are the people’s toll to bunch the Liberal very hard, let us do it correct and do not buy the scare tactic used by the Liberal to govern, so we would achieve the ideal scenario.

We will not maintain the most hated slogan, but we are asking you to help us developing another slogan for this election, but for sure non-patrician slogan;

We promise all of you that we are and will remain committed to the collective and individual rights and to the social and political justice, those the values that are not in the real agenda of the two rivals parties, (Liberal and Conservative), and we will remain open to all ideas and point of views, free speech is one of our main principals, for this IN will be open its pages for articles form the readers whatever its point of views as long as it respect the main principals of the others point of view.

Hope that the misunderstanding been cleared and the dialogue is opened

Today we are starting with some of the people respond to our most hated slogan;

Stephen Harper and the Conservative party is a replica of George Bush

From Bev Collins

I have been happy to receive your email newsletter, and totally understand your anger towards Martin and the Liberals at this time. However, the Conservative party under Stephen Harper would even be more dangerous.

Stephen Harper and the Conservative party is a replica of George Bushs party in the USA. If you read their platform you will understand that Harper fully wants integration of Canada with the USA. Harper is the one who attended the Bilderberg meeting in France and got his marching orders.

Mulroney and his Conservatives who were thrown out for corruption in 1993, have re-entered this party once again. Please check this out before you support even a minority Conservative government again.

Bush's support for Israel and all of its policies has been longstanding. We do not need Canada to follow suit and this will exactly happen if either the Liberals or Conservatives gain power.

No, I am not an NDP either, so this is not partisan. I am a very concerned Canadian that knows both parties have become corrupted.

All the best to you in your struggle.

It is frankly shameful

From Piper Huggins

Dear Editors of International News and Riseup,

With all due respect, I am shocked and appalled by what I read in the first lines of your most recent email newsletter.

After everything the NDP has done to protect the rights of Canadian minorities that have suffered from ethnic profiling, had their basic rights suspended on the basis of hearsay and conjecture, been victims of hate crimes and harassment, you recommend to your list to vote for the Conservatives?!

The same party who wanted Canada to participate in George Bushe’s war in Irak, justified atrocities in Afganistan, promoted Bushes’ Missile Defence sham; the same party who is demanding greater continental integration with the U.S., that seriously infringes on the basic human rights of Canadians and is a blatant disregard of our civil liberties;  the same party who is anti-immigration, anti Charter of Rights (defence of minority rights)à; the same party that wants to privatize public services like health care, education, old age pensions, the very programs that make this country different and more humane then the USA.! The same party that puts corporate interests of multi-nationals ahead of the public good and of Canadian small business?!

I am very surprised at this editorial comment at the beginning of this message dated November 16-17, and to think that you intend on keeping it there until Martin is removed from office. It is frankly shameful.

There are more than two political parties in this country. The NDP has a solid history of making this country one of the best places to live and raise a family in the world; a strong record of fiscal and social responsibility. Whereas, both the Conservatives (Alliane-Reform) and the Liberals have proven themselves, throughout Canadian history, to be ripe with corruption, bad judgment, irresponsible spending, and selling off of the country’s assets to foreign interests that has cost us jobs not to mention sovereign integrity.

I ask you humbly to reconsider your opening comment before sending out your next newsletter. Think of all that we have accomplished over the last while, fighting day in and day out with only 19 MPs in the House of Communs. What have the Conservatives have accomplished with over 50 MPs, nothing constructive whatsoever. We lost many seats to the Conservatives in the last election by just a few votes. If just those few people voted with their conscience, and not out of spite, we would have that much more influence in the House and therefore be that much further ahead today in making this country a model of equity, fairness, prosperity, and justice for all.

Endorsement of the Conservatives is pretty ridiculous

Pierre Laliberté

I have no love lost for the Liberals, but this endorsement of the Conservatives is pretty ridiculous. If you indeed intend to keep it up for the entire campaign, please kindly remove me from your list.
