Subject: Crusades
Women and children were shouting for mercy, but useless. Around 70,000
citizens including women and innocent children were killed with brutality.
There was so much human blood near Masjid-e-Umar, that it's level was upto
the knees. The streets, markets and the whole city was red with blood.
Corpses were lying in houses, mosques, crossings and roads. People were
forced to jump from towers and innocent citizens were burnt alive!
It happened about nine centuries ago, when crusaders invaded Jerusalem.
But, nine decades later, this darkness was defeated by the rising sun, and
Jerusalem was conquered by Sultan Salah-ud-din Ayyubi, the hero of Crusades
and the inventor of gorrilla warfare. When Sultan conquered the city, there
were 60,000 soldiers inside the city. The wifes and mothers of captive
crusade soldiers, pleaded Sultan, that their husbands and sons, are the
only support for their lives, and they can't survive without them, and
Sultan replied "Return to the Mothers...their sons, and to to the
Wives...their husbands ! ".
Now , centuries have passed, and we should hope, this massacre of
civilians in Jerusalem was a brutal incidence of past history, and similar
incidence can not take place in our "Modern Era". But, In the evening of
September 16th 1982, a group of the Lebanese christian militia of the
Falange, entered the Palestinain refugee camps of Sabra and Shatila (near
Beirout). During the following 36 hours, they murdered between 800
(official Israeli figures) and 3,500 (according to the investigations of
the Israeli journalist Kapeliouk) people, including women and children. The
camps were externally surrounded by Israeli soldiers throughout the
incident, and the militias had been sent in by Israel.
Terrorism is no doubt a global problem.Few decades ago, in 1945, on
August 6th "A bright light filled the plane," wrote Lt. Col. Paul Tibbets,
the pilot of the Enola Gay, the B-29 that dropped the first atomic bomb
(named "Little boy"). "We turned back to look at Hiroshima. The city was
hidden by that awful cloud...boiling up, mushrooming". Three days later on
9th August, 1945, another Japanees city Nagasaki was bomed with Fat Man (a
much bigger atomb bomb). Those atomb bombs "Little Boy" and "Fat Man"
killed more than 140,000 and 70,000 civilians respectively, and many were
injured and exposed to radiations, which caused genetic mutations,
resulting in birth of malformed babies.
The tragic incidences of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, weren't the end of this
terrorism. During Vietnam war, 1945-1975, around 4 million innocent
civilians were killed, and the war in Afghanistan and Iraq is the
continuity of this bestial brutality. This is a brief introduction, to the
track record of countries and nations, who claim themselves to be the
champion of human rights, and are trying to defame muslims as terrorists
and Islam as a terrorist religioin.
Muslim are taught in Quran, not to call the gods of other religions with
bad names. But making cartoons, and hurting the religious sentiments of
others, is what, secularism teaches. Is secularism about reigious freedom?
But, practically, secularism has shown itself to be about expelling
students from schools and colleges, for being guilty of wearing hijab, and
pulling scarf from Muslim women's head. If secularism is about religious
freedom, this freedom should be offered to Muslims as well. There is no
better system than Islam, offering religious freedom and respect to the
rights of minorities.
Although, President Bush regret, calling the current war as crusades, but
it has given a little glimpse of the "Western Intentions". The threats
given to Muslim countries, like Iran and Syria, reveal the evil plot. The
blasphemous cartoons, published in European newspapers are a proof of
western hatred towards Islam and Muslims. The legendary Muslim sign of
Crescent (considered counterpart of Christian Cross) is also been ridiculed
in those cartoons, which clearly indicates, that the crusaders still mourn
their defeat in the crusades. History shows, that the crusades concluded
with a shameful defeat for the crusaders, and the history repeats itself !
