Samarra’
US troops kill pregnant woman and her mother on their way to hospital in
Samarra’ Tuesday afternoon.
 
In a dispatch posted at 7:40pm Makkah time Tuesday evening, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that US occupation forces shot and killed two women
and their taxi driver as they tried to get to the Samarra’ General
Hospital Tuesday afternoon.
The Samarra’ correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US
troops opened fire on a taxi cab in which a pregnant woman who was in
labor and her mother were riding to the hospital along a road on which US
forces had taken up positions.
A medical source told Mafkarat al-Islam that the pregnant woman
was killed but that in last seconds her son had been saved.  The
woman’s 60-year-old mother and the 52-year-old taxi cab driver were both
killed by the American gunfire.
Residents of the city told the correspondent that the pregnant woman’s
husband, a member of the Iraqi Resistance, had been killed in February in
a battle with the US occupation forces.
