Innaa lillaahi wa innaa ilayhi raaji'oon. We pray for Allah's mercy upon this distinguished and inspiring scholar, and patience for his family, including his son Abu Muntasir (JIMAS). Prof. Mohar Ali's books on orientalism were a unique undertaking, which should encourage young scholars and researchers to take up the baton. While we are squabbling over tiny matters, we are letting generations of learning slip away from us. Another scholar who has taken up the debate with orientalism is Prof. Mustafa Al-Azami, who is also by now in his 70s (may Allah grant him even longer life). Brothers, sisters, let's study, take from these great people's work and make their legacy as it deserves to be. ~Sohaib
