Assalamualaikum We are really concern about social development in Malaysia where nowadays, muslim brothers and sisters are getting marriage late in their life, and some are having difficulties in finding the spouse.
The extent of the problem is far to gauge but potentially damaging. I noticed that most islamic NGOs in Malaysia do have "Baitul Muslim" section, at least to look after their members, and a couple also offering services to the wide public. At the same time, perhaps, islamic NGOs must try even harder and take a lead and proactive roles to address this issue. But of course, family members, relatives and close friends must also play an active role in helping those looking for marriage. However, this is a global issue, where muslims in the west are facing with similar issue. The different being, those organisations in the west, mostly proactive in tackling this problem.
