Naib Presiden PAS, Dato Husam Musa yang juga anggota Exco
kerajaan negeri melahirkan rasa kesal terhadap laporan berita TV3 dan Bernama
yang tidak tepat dengan memutar belit kenyataan Menteri Besar berkaitan pakatan
PAS dan Parti KeADILan Rakyat (PKR) di Kelantan.
Saya kesal dengan laporan media terbabit yang telah memutar belit kenyataan
asal Tuan Guru Dato Nik Abdul Aziz. Kenyataan asalnya beliau tidak mahu
berlaku pertandingan tiga penjuru sehingga boleh menimbulkan kecelaruan di
kalangan pengundi, tambahnya.
Bernama dalam laporannya sebelum ini menyebut Menteri Besar berkata,
keyakinannya terhadap kredibiliti PKR semakin terhakis sambil menyifatkan parti
itu mencelarukan.
Sedangkan Utusan Malaysia dalam laporan perkara yang sama pula menyebut Parti
KeADILan Rakyat (PKR) diminta tidak meletakkan calon di Kelantan pada pilihan
raya umum akan datang bagi mengelakkan pertandingan tiga penjuru dengan Barisan
Nasional.
Husam juga berkata, PAS atau PKR mesti memastikan calon dikemukakan
benar-benar berpotensi untuk menang bagi mempertahankan kerajaan yang ada
sekarang.
Jadi konsep kita bukan jumlah kerusi antara PAS dan PKR yang perlu
dipertikaikan di Kelantan, tetapi potensi kemenangan calon yang perlu
dibincangkan, ujarnya.

Chances of three corner fights "minimal", says PKR sec-gen
KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 24 (ES) - The opposition is on track to have one to one
fights with the ruling National Front (BN) in the next general election, widely
expected to be held end February or early March.
"Overall we are in a much much better position than a month ago (to have
straight fights against BN)," National Justice Party (Keadilan) secretary
general Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said.
During a press conference held at the party headquarters here today, he was
however less than certain when asked whether the opposition could ensure that
there would be no three corner fights in the next general election.
"Yes, we are working towards that. The chances of three corner fights (however)
were higher a month ago but looking at the chances of three corner fights now,
- especially in the Peninsular - would be very minimal," he said.
English Section has learnt that three corner fights would be inevitable in
several parliamentary and state seats especially after minor opposition parties
declared their intentions to join in the fray.
Some 200 parliamentary seats are up for grab in the next general election, with
the ruling coalition widely expected to lose more seats this time around after
winning more than 90 per cent of parliamentary seats in the last general
election which was marred with accusations of polling irregularities.
Abdul Khalid said although there were expectations that negotiations would
speed up after the party reached an agreement with the Democratic Action Party
(DAP) for seats allocation in the state of Penang recently, he remarked that
ongoing negotiations would not be speeded up "unnecessarily".

"I want to get a consensus (at party level) but at the end of the day there is
no point of having one to one fights when a percentage of those whose going to
vote were put off (by the arrangement)," he said.
He was also optimistic that the negotiations would be concluded even if the
elections were to be held next month: "What we are saying to you is that we
have settled the hard one (in the case of Penang and) now it is easier".
He however noted speculations that the election would only be held in May or
June. Technically the present ruling government is only required to hold
polling next year.
"If that (delay) happened then that would be a bonus to us because (Keadilan de
facto leader) Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will be able to contest," he said
referring to Anwar who was barred from taking part in political activities
until April this year.
"I will work
my delivery (of the end result) is my bottom line," he said.
Abdul Khalid also reiterated the longstanding wish of the opposition to have
the polling date fixed well in advance.
On seat allocations with ally Islamic Party of Malaysia (PAS), Abdul Khalid
said it was "almost completed".
He said a joint official announcement would be made soon. The opposition is
also expected to field its candidates in all constituencies. -Saadon Aksah/ES
