sekiranya azlina lepas, pertandingan akan
menjadi 3 penjuru yg akhirnya memaksa shahrizat utk menentang rafidah.
satu lagi benefit ialah....jutaan RM mungkin akan turun, bergantung kepada kekuatan sponsor masing masing.
Tidak ada lagi perjuangan dlm umno, yg ada hanyalah perjuangan duit so pemimpin umno sepatutnya mendapatkan duit sebanyak yg mungkin. Jika tidak, tidak ada ruhnya dlm umno..yg tinggal dan yang ada ialah ruh duit sebagai self proclaimed penegak ketuanan melayu.
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 11– Wanita Umno executive committee (exco) member
Datuk Kamilia Ibrahim said today that she intended to contest the
wing’s Number Two post at Umno’s polls in March next year.
Expressing her stand to Bernama, Kamilia said she offered to contest
the post because she did not recognise Wanita Umno’s leadership
transition plan set for June next year.
She said there were no provisions in Umno’s constitution for leadership transitions, nor was it a party practice.
Kamilia, who has not attended the wing’s last two exco meetings,
including the one held yesterday, said her action in not attending the
meetings was a clear message that she did not agree to the leadership
transition plan for the wing.
The Kuala Kangsar Wanita Umno head said it was not up to Wanita Umno’s exco to decide who should lead Wanita Umno.
The exco yesterday decided that the leadership transition between
Wanita Umno head Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz and her deputy Datuk Seri
Shahrizat Abdul Jalil in June not be changed.
The meeting also called for both the Number One and Number Two posts
not be contested in the interest of unity and to strengthen the wing.
The meeting also rejected Shahrizat’s proposal to speed up the transition to March as Umno polls will be held that month.
Kamilia qualified to contest the Number Two post after garnering 55
nominations from the 191 divisions in the wing. The minimum needed to
do so is 39 nominations.
Asked if Rafidah and Shahrizat knew about her stand, Kamilia said : “I feel
both of them know.”
She insisted she would not withdraw even if she had go against
Shahrizat for the post and added that neither Rafidah nor Shahrizat had
contacted her to negotiate on the matter.
“I do not see the need for any negotiations as I have made up my
mind,” she said, adding that her reason for wanting to contest was to
champion Islam more effectively as religious issues were often being
questioned now.
Meanwhile, Shahrizat, in a statement today, reiterated her stand
that the leadership transition plan should be streamlined in line with
Umno’s general assembly and polls (in March).
“To continue with the plan will cause the Wanita Umno chief post to
last for only three months after which it will only be in an acting
capacity for three years while the Number Two post has to be vacated.
This will be a loss for Wanita Umno in the current political scenario,”
