Before diving in to deep, make sure that you're browser cache is enabled
and that the IE 7 phising filter is disabled.

Hmm, strange. Especially with version 6.05 the GUI
responsiveness improved a lot. More than a second to open a
folder is not normal. I did see the CMS perform very slowly
on Windows Vista last week, but never on XP or Linux. I have
no idea what causes your problem, sorry.
