I will try the safranin O on two samples. Also, toluidine blue has been 
suggested. Do you have any experience with it?

I can’t think of a reason why it wouldn’t work or hurt. Give it a try!  Dab off 
the alcohol and mark. Let us know how it worked out in the end!
