MUSLIM LAWYERS ASKED TO JOIN CAIR-LEGALNET
E-Mail list designed to create community service network
(WASHINGTON, D.C., 4/19/2000) - CAIR is calling on Muslim lawyers in the
United States and Canada to join its newly formed e-mail list CAIR-LEGALNET.
(Muslim lawyers in other countries are also eligible to join the list.)
CAIR-LEGALNET is a discussion list designed to create a network of Muslim
lawyers who can offer advice and services to the North American Muslim
community.
List members will provide a legal viewpoint on issues such as workplace
discrimination, religious accommodation in schools and prisons, challenges
to Muslim civil liberties (secret evidence, passenger profiling, etc.), as
well as other legal issues of importance to Muslims. CAIR receives hundreds
of requests for legal assistance each year. This is a good opportunity to
serve the community.
Only licensed attorneys, law graduates or currently enrolled law students
will be eligible for membership on the list.
