Form follow Fun- Victor Papanek

With the introduction of microchips, laser-scanning techniques, digitalise processing and other high technology developments, products are frequently superseded be newer or better- a seemingly better-invention that demand a new shapeyet we pay a heavy price for all this porgies ecologically and environmentally: we destroy irreplaceable resources, waste energy and spend our lives in the pursuit in trendy triviatrue needs of the consumer classes have been pushed aside to be replaced by artificially induced one

1.One of famous trend in design is form follow fun. What is your opinion or comments about fun design we can see in the market today?

2.How long have you been working in design arena and what changes or improvements have you seen in Malaysian design scene and direction?

3.What are Malaysia Super Corridor and Multimedia contributions in design industry and environmental issues?

4.Manufacturers are dealing with environmental problems by the adoption of strategies such as Design for Disassembly, Design for Recycling and the use of technologies which improve energy consumption, heat efficiency and reduce emissions. How far this applied by design in Malaysia?

5.Global population is expected to double by some time in the next century. The market for capital and consumer goods likely to increase ten-fold. How designer should take this challenges with solution to react with limited resources and pollution effect?

6.The drivers of consumerism are, the social status associated with rare, high value and sometimes dubious products (a gas guzzling limo, aluminium lemon squeezer, a mink coat) and the compelling novelty of brand new items (hi-fi, pot noodles and frisbees). In your opinion, how far can this social status and new trend can influence consumer buying attitude and lifestyle? Is that other important factors that can influence consumer?

7.How designer can apply this in their design which isgreen, environmentally and ecologically concern and friendly? Is that possible designer do have the power to create cultural shifts, status so a green' life style could become admirable and copied?

8.What is your vision of Malaysia design future which contribute to environmentally and ecologically sustainable lifestyle and progress and will not repeat the mistakes of developed nation?

PS: Thank you for helping me in this interview and for you great view.
