APPREHENSIONS ABOUT GILANI'S MURDER IN JAIL
Srinagar, July 05 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, relatives of illegally
detained former APHC chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, have expressed
apprehensions that he might be
murdered in Jail.
His daughter, Zahida Altaf told Kashmir Media Service in Srinagar today
that the Indian secret agencies are spreading news of possible suicide
by Syed Ali Gilani. They go
to the extent to emphasize that he commits self-immolation. It has also
been given out that his demand for provision of a shaving blade is not
accepted as he can use it for
committing suicide. News reports are circulated that his cell is being
grilled. It was also reported that Gilani who is a heart patient had
complained of ailment and asked
that he be shifted to hospital. This request was turned down.
All such reports betray nefarious designs of Indian authorities.
Syed Ali Gilani's daughter stressed that Islam forbids suicide and her
father being a true Muslim cannot even imagine infringing any Islamic
tenet. Moreover, committing
suicide is a cowardly act, and Gilani sahib is a courageous and brave
person.
Syed Ali Gilani's daughter fervently urged world Human Rights
organizations to keep a close watch on Ranchi jail and ensure safety of
her father. All possible steps be
taken, she added, to totally frustrate Indian designs to get Syed Ali
Gilani assassinated in jail. KMS
KASHMIRIS HAVE DEMOCRATIC RIGHT NOT TO VOTE
Srinagar, July 05(KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the visiting renowned
Indian activist, Tappan Bose, has said, the people of occupied Kashmir
have a democratic right NOT to
vote, (repeat NOT to vote).
According to Kashmir Media Service, addressing a press conference in
Srinagar, Bose said, he had himself abstained from voting in several
elections in the past as a mark
of protest.
He said, most of the people in occupied Kashmir are negative towards
election to the so-called state Legislative assembly.
The Indian Human Rights activist said, New Delhi has turned occupied
Kashmir into an army state while the Indian installed regime has turned
it into a police state.
"As any political science theoretician would tell you police state is
the worst, it sets a brother against brother and cashes on this
animosity", Bose said adding "the
greatest practitioner of this creed was Chanakya. The rulers of present
day India are also practising his Guptchar politics and the Indian
puppet Farooq is shaking hands
with these disciples of Chanakya."
While stating that every department in Kashmir was haunted by Indian
intelligence agencies, Bose said, "In the dead of night somebody would
ring my hotel room and ask
Bose Sahab Kahan Thehrey hain. Recently somebody from FRRO approached me
at a hotel here saying I was in possession of a British passport." KMS
INDIA TILTS FURTHER TO EXTREMISM
Islamabad, July 05(KMS): A new threat to peace has emerged in the region
with India lurching further towards Hindu extremism. The latest
reshuffling of cabinet by Indian
Prime Minister bringing hardliners to top positions in the government is
a significant pointer to the new development.
This has been stated by News Agency ABC.Net of Australia, reports
Kashmir Media Service.
ABC'S correspondent Geoff Thompson in his report from New Delhi
commenting on the cabinet reshuffle said the most significant has been
the elevation of Home Minister
I.K Advani to the concurrent post of Deputy Prime Minister. Advani he
said is credited with catapulating the relatively obscure BJP to
political potency by initiating a nation
wide campaign of Hindu Nationalism in early 1990s. Advani sparked the
Babri Mosque riots a decade ago. He led a chariot procession " Rath
Yatra" across India in 1990
spreading violence ultimately resulting in the destruction of Babri
mosque by Hindu zealots in December 1992. Earlier this year a fire on a
train at Godhra station Gujarat
was attributed to Muslims resulting in deadly riots in the state causing
the killing of 2000 Muslims.
Latest forensic reports say the fire that burnt the train at Godhra got
started from inside and not by out side elements.
L.K Advani was to start another Hindu Chariot procession across Gujarat
this week but it has been cancelled after warning by the Indian Human
Rights Commission that it
would lead to more violence and blood letting in the state.
Geoff Thompson's report concluded by saying" Gujarat's woes still simmer
away, a kind of political test-tube for the limits of the militant Hindu
nationalism which spawned
the upwardly mobile L.K Advani and the ruling BJP.
But it's a test-tube which threatens to break, spill and spread across a
country which is 80 per cent Hindu, an experiment all the more risky
because regional and religious
peace is now balanced by nuclear weapons. KMS
4 KASHMIRIS, 5 TROOPS KILLED
Srinagar, July 05 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Indian troops in their
un abating spurt of violence, killed four Kashmiri youth at various
places, reports Kashmir Media
Service.
Two of the victims were reported killed in fake encounter, near the line
of control, in Poonch district. The other two were similarly killed in
Pulwama and Doda districts.
Four troops were killed and two injured in actions at different places
in the same districts.
The troops raided a watch repairing shop at Lal Chowk Srinagar and
arrested its owner. Shopkeepers in the locality observed daylong protest
strike against arrest of the
watchman. KMS
100-YEAR OLD MOSQUE DEMOLISHED IN GUJARAT
New Delhi, July 05 (KMS): In Ahmadabad, Gujarat the 100 year old Madni
mosque in Vasna locality has been demolished by the local municipal
administration after
serving a few hour notice.
Kashmir Media Service reports that the Mayor of the Congress controlled
municipal administration claimed that the municipal commissioner had
ordered the demolition
keeping the elected representatives in the dark.
He said that the demolition was part of the BJP Chief Minister,
Narendra Modi's "plan to keep the city simmering till the next
elections.'' With the Jagannath rath yatra
scheduled for July 12, the demolition could provoke communal
disturbances. The State Government authorities, however, denied any
knowledge of the demolition, which, a
senior Minister said, was carried out by the municipal corporation.
The mosque, along with nine shops adjoining its boundary wall, was
damaged by hooligans during the recent riots. Repair work had just been
taken up by the Muslim's
trust when the municipal bulldozers demolished it.
The city Congress president, said the mosque was demolished in violation
of an earlier civic resolution that no place of worship would be
demolished on grounds of traffic
obstruction, but that the existing ones would not be allowed to expand
or new ones allowed to come up creating traffic obstructions. KMSKashmir
