I must say, C++ is not an easy language, even having a fair deal of 
experience with C. mysql is not that difficult really for simple 
queries, and even inner joins start to make sense once you've done a few.

You can program Qt (not QT, btw :~) ) in Python if you prefer. There are 
some good examples on you tube of basic programs. If you need any help 
with signals and slots just email me off list.
