Indeed the tutorial is not easily understandable....
however I succeeded to set up 2 reports.
What is your problem? The construction (set up) of a report? or how to
call it from a window?

May be I am a little bit out of topic. As a newbie with Mysql and
Knoda I found it easy to set up Forms, though the handling of images
was not impressive. Giving the path and the filename for the image, it
should be straight forward to connect this two parts, look up and
display the image. Now the user must do the loading manually. Also, I
have not been able to figure out how to set up reports. The tutorial
is hopeless to understand. Hopefully Kexi will handle reports in a
reasonable way when it is brought a bit further.
One another problem, was to handle SQL statements trough Knoda. I had
to install Mysql Navigator to be able to do that without resorting to
CLI programming at the terminal interface.

I must say, C++ is not an easy language, even having a fair deal of
experience with C. mysql is not that difficult really for simple
queries, and even inner joins start to make sense once you've done a
few.
You can program Qt (not QT, btw :~) ) in Python if you prefer. There
are some good examples on you tube of basic programs. If you need
any help with signals and slots just email me off list.

Yes, I am just coming to the end of designing a database front end
for
my little company completely built on Qt creator/designer and
written in
C++ and mysql.
With all the knowledge I have learned about Qt I hope to either
make my
own version of knoda or get knoda compiled under KDE4.
It's actually made me learn a lot about mysql as well as C++.
I intend to put knoda into creator and see how far I can get
compiling
it. (I tried a few months ago and got absolutely nowhere, but failed
miserably.)
I have done a little work in placing widgets on a form and allowing a
user with no C++ or mysql knowledge to create their own system,
but in
the end decided I needed to do a custom one before I could really
get my
head round a knoda style system.

database also), but it seems it's not without problems.
