WARNING: please just read carefully... do it at your own risk. im not
responsible if your computer doesnt work after this.

you could just go thru your control panel>systems/system properties>device
manager (in win2k)

select computer>Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) PC

open its properties and go to the driver tab

select update driver... go thru the wizard but...

list the available drivers for this hardware and just select "standard
computers" and the other box select "standard pc"

continue with the install...

and reboot or something.

WARNING: this is not recommended to do... as it will really screw up
something with your computer.
you should backup your hardware profile for the current install... but still
it wont do good.

its better that you turn off "plug and play OS" in your BIOS and reinstall
win2k (fresh install), as this (they say) will remove ACPI when being
installed by windows.
