You can already sort of do that. Take a look at NeoTrace... http://www.neoworx.com/products/ ...it allows you to trace an IP address to it's source. It works pretty well for most of the coporate IP addresses and web servers that I've tried to trace. They use traceroute and whois information as well as other geographic data to show you the route your IP connection takes between a client and a server (or between a server and a client).
