Just to say, wow. Valve continue to be fantastic when it comes to support don't they?!
I know of many companies (not necessarily in the software business, but others are) who would just say no to that question as its too hard to find out. If it involves asking anyone who is outside your building, its too much trouble to go to. But over at Valve, they'll get two people onto it and talk to their lawyers. Fantastic. Sorry for going off topic, but its just great to continually see this. Thanks Valve. Some of these questions take a few days to answer, especially if they're questions we haven't heard before. If it's IP built by us and published exclusively by Sierra on the PC then the question is easy, it would be yes, but for stuff where we had the work done by a third parties and/or the publisher was someone other than Sierra and/or if there are other contracts involved - i.e. Sony - then the immediate answer is "let's ask the lawyers to double check before we say anything". Both Doug Lombardi and Scott Lynch are looking into this question, and they'll let everyone know when they hear back, which will probably be sometime early next week. -----Original Message----- From: Kratisto [mailto:kratisto@;yahoo.com] Sent: Friday, November 15, 2002 9:56 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [hlcoders] SDK Licence applies to HL PS2? Im planning to use some HL PS2 models in my little mod... As far I know, the HL SDK licence for mods covers content in the original game, CS, opfor and blue shift. But, its ok to use content from the Half-Life PS2 port?
