This is a multi-part message in MIME format. -- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] There are several versions actually, from what I've learnt, they are as follows (you were rather close to what I found out):
Light Version: in this version you will receive only the Singleplayer part of the game, with no online support at all. (patches and updates to the singleplayer part of the game will still be available, naturally). Standard Version: in this version you will receive the Singleplayer and Multiplayer part of the game. This includes all MOD support, custom maps, custom models, and patches for all aspects of the game. (most likely a dedicated server included). Collectors Edition: in this version you will receive the Singleplayer and Multiplayer part of game, full MOD support (all things included in the Standard Version as well). Also, there will be numerous additions that as of my last update where still to be finalized. Steam Purchase: this version will allow you to download the game via steam as a lot of us have been doing the past few months for things like Half-Life, Counter-Strike, Team Fortress Classic, Day of Defeat and Dedicated Server. With this version you will be required to pay a one-time fee, which will be slightly cheaper then the retail published version (naturally because there is no box, manual, and such). Steam Subscription: this version will grant you access to all of Valve's software releases. In other words, you will be able to play Half-Life, Counter-Strike, Team Fortress Classic, Day Of Defeat, Half-Life 2 and others, as well as have access to future releases such as Team Fortress 2 and Half-Life 3. This option is available through an easy payment of $9.95 USD per month. Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time, at which point you will lose access to all the games you had before. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of tei Sent: Wednesday, September 03, 2003 4:37 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [hlcoders] SKU? Sku.capped: singleplayer, no mods, (no user maps?) Sku.normal: sp and multiplayer + mods (+ fix patchs?) Sku.subscription: sp and dm + mods, fix patches, and extra content as available normal is easy to understand, but will be mods available for download from anonymous ftp sites? and critical patches? I miss a Sku.multiplayer with only, and ONLY, the files needed to play a DM game with high FPS and low PING. HL1 SP whas very good, but zimbillions of zealots have only play DM. My english is crap. _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlcoders -- _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlcoders
