I've tried a few version of gdb but when I run "gdb hlds_run -game x" it says "hlds_run unrecognesed executable file format". Any ideas ? I am compiling with -g -ggdb and no optimisations but the problem seems to lie between with the hlds executable and gdb.

Just add "-g -ggdb" to the CFLAGS of the linux build to add symbols. You may also want to (optionally) remove the -0X flag (usually not needed however). - Alfred > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of > Taylor, Richard > Sent: Tuesday, December 02, 2003 3:19 AM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: [hlcoders] debugging linux builds > > Hey, > > I've been doing Linux builds for some time but have now got > my first Linux > only bug.
