Its QuArK a Half-Life mod?1 Its distribute has binary form only?2 Use the studiomdl.h SDK file?3
Imho:
If (yes1 and yes2 and yes3) illegal, ask for permision to fix that else not illegal or unknom.
I know the license :[ Ok, I *used* some files from the SDK to aquire the basic knowledge of the file format and used case studies with other parts of the models. I *reproduce* some code as soon as I try to read in Half-Life models no matter what code I use, right? And I do all this for a project other than a Half-Life mod. Though it is free of charge, a help for the community and does not explicitly use files from the SDK, just some data types are more or less converted 1:1 to Delphi code, but that's the file format. I could use other algorithms here and there... Ok, who do I send an eMail now to ask for permission to reproduce Half-Life model files?
