Sorry that I ask such question here, but it's interesting to hear
your opinions :)

When I (and everyone too) install Valve games they do not appear in
Steam games list. Steam doesn't "see" my Half-Life which is installed
from Generations pack box. Instead it tries to download whole
Half-Life from internet after I entered serial number. Why do I need
new Half-Life if it *IS* already on my PC. Can't it determine current
HL version and download separate files?

Them Steam doesn't "see" Codename: Gordon which I asked my friend to
download me and send on cd.

What I am trying to tell is that for users with low bandwidth (I have
56kb modem - 5kb\sec) it is problematically to use Steam as
delievery platform for files larger then 20 mb. In my country
broadband internet is something for gods.

Is it possible to manually tell Steam that Half-Life lies in
D:\Games\Half-Life and Codename: Gordon is in D:\Games\CodenameGordon
? Do you want to see such feature in Steam?
