A very sad day for valve...Valve you need to fix it and I mean make it work like it used too. Thankfully I have 2 steam accounts one of which I have not connected to the internet for about 9 months after I noticed that my primary machine could not function in offline mode in a stable manner. The machine I have not connected still runs everything in offline mode perfect (not much help for others sorry). Needless to say I will never be connecting the other computer to the internet so that steam cannot stuff it up.. Also I will be removing my support from Valve after the mod I’m working on is finished as I find the steam issues and total lack of support from steam unprofessional to the extreme. I have spent over 2 years learning this engine...and I teach hl2sdk as part of a game course in Austria...Also I have various meetings with businesses proposing ideas based on the source sdk...can you see how unprofessional it is for me to show up and start raving about the amazing world of real time 3D then not be able to run the software I want to show them..that makes me look like I don’t know what I am doing, this actually happened to me and now I make sure that the meetings are at my office because I’m too scared that it’s not going to work offline(even after I make sure I have done all the things I’m supposed to on the steam support site). Take some advice Valve..make the SDK function the way it used to about 9 months ago, make it work offline again and make it stay that way. Hope you can do it soon Adam Donovan _________________________________________________________________ Win Dad the Footy Final with Cadbury Favourites! http://a.ninemsn.com.au/b.aspx?URL=http%3A%2F%2Fbs%2Eserving%2Dsys%2Ecom%2FBurstingPipe%2FadServer%2Ebs%3Fcn%3Dtf%26c%3D20%26mc%3Dclick%26pli%3D243221%26pi%3D0%26ord%3D%25%25RANDOM%25%25&_t=765445318&_r=hotmail_email_tagline_Aug07_Cadburys&_m=EXT -- _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlcoders
