Hey Xaz, I'm 'THIEF!' from that thread. Haven't got around to putting it up on 
the wiki yet -_-
 
I'd say you're best off interrupting the NPCs AI, which was how I got it 
working. Pretty much hide your NPC, create a server ragdoll physics prop and 
use the SetUnragdoll and SetDamageEntity methods. A lot of 'patient' fiddling 
around after that. 
 
When you remove the ragdoll from the server, the ragdoll blends on the client. 
A lot of stuff is already there, just wish someone told me that before I 
started! xD
