I am still encountering the same problem as before. Listen servers do not respond to other players. I know that this is not a firewall/port forwarding issue.
Testing setup: Two computers within the same LAN, testing dedicated server and listen server on computer 1, trying to connect with computer 2. Cases I have tried: 1. Steam.inf on both client and dedicated server - Listen servers can't be connected to (don't respond) - Dedicated servers work perfectly, show up in the server list, can be connected to. 2. Removed steam.inf from clients, steam.inf still exists on dedicated server - Listen servers work fully - Players get dropped after a time from dedicated servers that have a steam.inf file 3. Remove steam.inf from both client and server - Listen servers work perfectly. - Dedicated server can be connected to, but doesn't show in server list and drops players after a time. 4. ??? - Listen servers work perfectly. - Dedicated servers work perfectly. Any ideas what I can do to achieve #4? I built my mod using the "from scratch" build. Thanks for any further ideas, -Skyler Clark On Mon, Feb 9, 2009 at 9:29 AM, Skyler Clark <[email protected]> wrote: > I copied my client directory straight into the dedicated server, so I > don't think there are any differences. > > -Skyler > > On Sun, Feb 8, 2009 at 11:24 PM, Mark Chandler <[email protected]> wrote: >> Make sure the client has the same file as well.
