Hey,
I know this topic has been bouncing around a bit since the updates were
released, but I wanted to just check again to see if anyone has some new
info.
It sounds like there are some people who's servers are running fine, no
problem... and there are others who aren't so lucky, like myself. It's not
a big deal, really, I'm here to start the server back up when it crashes
(most of the time), but I would prefer that the server could be up and stay
up for, you know.. a week or something. As opposed to 2 hours, let's say.
Anyone know why this might be happening? Or perhaps, a way to optimize the
server/keep it from crashing so often? Anything at all would be great.
Anyway, with all the animosity going on in this list, I just want to say
that I appreciate what Valve does, and I just hope that eventually they can
reach that point of never having to update anymore (thus creating the
perfect game, yea right!). But good luck just the same. I also appreciate
what the people here on the list do for those of us who need some help.
My server is Win2k, dual 1.2 ghz, 300+ RAM (unsure of the exact amount,
don't feel like checking...). We only run 3 servers at a time, 2
Counter-Strike, 1 DoD. The DoD server seems to be more stable, but it never
seems to last more than a day.
