try a tracert. If your ping is high on your first hop, then something is wrong iwth your comp. Else you will see it shoot up somewhere in the line.
A friend of mine who runs a server 30 miles from my house used to give me a steady 50-60ms ping. Then Speakeasy(evil company) moved his POP from LA to Seatle. He lives in san diego. So now instead of my signal traveling about 300miles round trip it I going about 2000miles and giving me a 120ms ping. -----Original Message----- From: Joshua Davis [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Saturday, September 29, 2001 3:43 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: pings went from good to not good w/ no solution Yeah, I'm running HL 1108a and CS 1.3, but the problem started before installing those. The server is a P3 650 w/256MB of ram. I have pinged my clan mates, and the ping time is the same inside and outside of the game. I have a feeling that the problem is with our ISPs and different networks.. I also think that my ISP has switched back bones recently. Thanks for you help though Pno --- Stan Hoeppner <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > CS server? Are you currently running HLDS 1108 and > CS1.3? If so, what > speed is the CPU of the server?
