It depends entirely on the amount of RAM, the speed of the machine, and how many servers you're trying to run on that machine. Windows Vcache is very inefficient with large amounts of RAM due to the extensive table look-ups. MS, in fact, recommends against any system configuration that results in Vcache sizes larger than a few hundred meg. So on machines with, say, 512M+ RAM running only a single server, a ramdisk may be worthwhile.
