1.5 has already been recompiled or whatever to run under steam. This requires no work what so ever from valves part... what this means is you can actually see a server list on the steam browser and continue to play. I think basically the main problem is there will be no more VAC for it, that's all.

Just wave goodbye to 1.5 ... It's gone. The HLDS.exe for CS 1.5 and other mods only talks to WON and that is where Game spy gets the listing. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Richard Welsh Sent: Tuesday, July 13, 2004 12:50 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [hlds] is WON being switch off end of this month ? -- -- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] CS 1.5 servers will still work without WON they just wont be protected from what I have seen and just wont be able to use the in game search tool to find the servers. But there is GameSpy and HLSW that should still be able to link players with servers for 1.5 or 1.3 or beta. CS 1.5 will run w/o WON as a LAN option but I doubt they will kill WON and then set something up in its place to allow CS 1.5 to continue -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, July 12, 2004 5:47 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [hlds] is WON being switch off end of this month ?
