So true, I fired up cs saturday night for the first time in months popped onto what are\used to be pretty clean servers, and what do you know.. 3 blatent and admitted cheaters, I mean 103\4 types. (only saving grace was at least they were not running there mouths) Left, went to another one, only took 10 minutes before a similar situation developed, off to another one, 3rd one I actually got a full map in before the cheaters showed up, at least these last ones we not advertising it, course I had to listen to all the 12 yearolds yell at each other about it before disabling voicecom.
..sad.. Vac helps, but it help in about the same way ms product activation helps stop piracy of windows. It keeps those too stupid or computer illiterate away from cheating, yet has only a marginal effect on the primary userbase who uses the product. Tech savy pc gamers. (though I must say, when we had a couple updates in quick succession a few months back it did help for about a week or two) -----Original Message----- From: K. Right now Hackers rule just about any server they want. Secure servers too. Most who use hacks are obvious and get banned. It's the stealth hackers. The ones who are good at not getting caught. The wall hacks and aim bots. When I want to play I go thru 5 servers before I find one w/o Blatant hackers. It's really bad right now. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Dennis Sent: Tuesday, August 17, 2004 10:29 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [hlds] VAC Update? > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of K. VAC has been a total washout. > Each VAC update we get gives us four hours of no cheating ... That's it. > Valve does not have the programming resources to keep up with the > hackers who write this stuff for free. > > All of the anti cheat detections have failed ... The hackers have won. > Wait a minute...am I wrong, or doesn't VAC ban cheaters for one year? If this is true, then the cheaters are always being weeded out, right? Even when the script kiddies find new cheats not yet detected by VAC, they're still banned.
