I hate to state the obvious, but I think that maybe Valve is aware of these problems, and might actually be doing something about it.
OK, time for Ook to get long winded lol.....
Given Valves history of not comunicating very well with us, I believe this is indeed the case. Valve reads these messages, but they have policies that very strictly govern what can and what can not be posted to these public forums. They aren't saying anything to us because Alfred and others that post here are forbidden to do so. Alfred reads these posts, and it probably kills him that he can't answer our messages.
Valve knows by now that when they are silent we assume that we are being ignored and start to think that they are a bunch of bumbling idiots. They probably have attorneys that tell them to say nothing because they are afraid someone will sue them for what they say. I'm not making this up, I've worked for 20 years for corporate America with lawyers and managers that very strictly censor all outgoing communications for fear of lawsuits. Many of us out here have the same experience and know what I'm talking about.
Valve: "We are aware of the problem and are working on it"
N00b Server Admin: "You said that yesterday. You suck. I'm going to turn off my CS servers and I'm going to sue you for a bazillion dollars".
Experienced Server Admin: "Valve, thank you very much for acknowledging our concerns. I'm very happy you have taken a moment out of your busy schedule to dialog with us, and I will happily and patiently wait for you to fix this. Valve rulz!"
At least here we can post things like this. I for one enjoy this uncensored list. I got tired of my messages like this being deleted form the VERC, which is one of the reasons I don't post there anymore. Enjoy the freedom we have to rant and rave, I'm actually quite (pleasantly) surprised that Valve hasn't censored this list
And, Valve, we know you don't owe us anything, but you know it wouldn't hurt any and would actually help your image quite a bit if you would let your people post here occaisonally with a "Yeah, we're working on it" type of message. Is it too much to ask to acknowledge our concerns?
