Yar, VALVe's doing an awesome job considering what they have to put up
with in regards to people constantly trying to break down their software
and cheat, etc.

Better hope they disable all the "%" commands from strings though, it's
not like any of us need them :/

I know the majority of the people on this list are Valve haters,
but...I'd like to say thank you to Alfred and Valve for an excellent
job. I found a vulnerability in the source engine, and they fixed it
and released the patch in about 10 hours (who said steam was a bad
thing?).

Now that it is over...I'll share the details. It was basically a
reiteration of the %n name bug. If you changed your name to %n and did
a "status" command from the console, it would timeout all the clients
from the server, just like the last known %n name exploit did. I
stumbled upon this by accident while trying to punish the non-steam
hackers.
