Yeah, I read that. I'm not quite sure how to take it; as with every other VAC-related issue, I tend to take it with a grain of salt, but ... who knows.
I would like to think that VAC2 will be leaps and bounds better than its predecessor, but I suppose that this remains to be seen. I'm anxiously awaiting VAC2s public debut (especially in 1.6, assuming that's the case), and of course, I hope it's everything VAC should have been the first time around.
