The intelligent reader will remain objective and above the level of
competition.

To wit:

steambans is a "anti-cheat technology solution" and is therefore a
competing solution to VAC regardless of any non-objective opining
performances in forums or elsewhere.

Therefore I categorize steambans non-authoritive information to be
possible disinformation.

Of course there is the possibility the steambans information is accurate.

However, any organization choosing to publish such information should be
prepared to back it up with the scientific facts regarding how they
arrived at such conclusions. Unfortunately, to admit to dissassembly of
a comercial product's binaries is a certain invitation to litigation.
Therefore steambans must claim they acquired this information from "the
cheat community".

Anyone who pays any attention or credence to anything out of the cheat
community is:
a. stupid for even considering accessing such organizations for any reason.
b. supportiung the goals of the cheat authors personality disorders by
listening to them and thinking they know what they are talking about.
c. being used as propoganda agents of the cheat community.

Maybe the cheat community is a bunch of smart geeks and maybe they are
right.
But they are humans in sore need of psychiatric treatment and are
therefore moot as far as any legitimacy is concerned.

I say again, steambans requires you give them your rcon password. a
patently stupid idea anyway you look at it.
And, when I signed up a couple of dozen servers there, the only time
steambans ever scanned the servers was during the signup.
therefore all steambans did was acquire my rcon passwords.

What is the probability that the cheat community is a part of steambans
and therefore has access to all those rcon passwords?
And what about those cheat consoles I heard about that can log onto any
steambans protected server with rcon access? (possible BS?)

Sadly, steambans remains a noble yet totally idiotic attempt at cheat
prevention as it still requires the "judgement" of a "judge panel" as to
whether a player is cheating or not.
The "Global Ban List" was probably more accurate even with all of it's
obvious flaws.
And, the "Global Ban List" did not require anyone to reveal their rcon
passwords.

By all means go sign up on steambans and give them your rcon passwords.
Send them your credit card and identity info while you are at it to
serve as a "JIT Donation" device.
